Medicine 2.0'12 is now accepting applications for volunteers (preferably students) who want to help out a minimum of 10 hours at the conference, in exchange for a free ticket. A limited number of students may receive waived registration for the Medicine 2.0 Congress (this does not include travel, hotel or meals) in exchange for serving as a photographer, coordinator, support person or staff member at the registration desk and presentation sessions, and/or with helping with setup. The program is also open to non-students with special talents. THE PROGRAM IS NOT OPEN FOR PRESENTERS OR PARTICIPANTS WHO ALREADY REGISTERED. The Medicine 2.0 congress will be held at the conference center at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts on September 15-16, 2012. The registration desk will commence on Friday pm, September 14th, 2012. Responsibilities will include: Helping with bag stuffing (Friday am or pm) Helping at the registration desk Taking photographs Technical assistance for speaker presentations Assisting with audio visual needs. Other fun, yet to be determined, activities In order to qualify for participation in the program, each student volunteer must agree to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours during the conference. It is imperative that each volunteer remain in their designated time slot for the duration of the session. Please fill out the attached form to apply for a student volunteer position. If you are selected to participate, you will receive an email from the Student Volunteer Coordinator with further information. A valid credit card may have to be supplied to hold your volunteer position, and if you are not from Boston we may ask for evidence that you made travel arrangements (hotel reservation, plane ticket). Should you not fufill your commitment, you will be charged the regular student fee ($450). The Student Volunteer Coordinator will notify you before any action is taken. Special note: while every attempt will be made to accommodate your choices of sessions, we cannot guarantee it. The Student Volunteer Coordinator will contact volunteers 6 weeks before the conference to finalize arrangements. The deadline for submitting your application is July 31st, 2012 (applications after this date will be considered on a case-by-case basis).
